I just stumbled onto this when looking for ideas for building my own dj desk. I've got to say this is one of the sleekest things I've seen in a long time. If anyone would like to buy me an early x-mas present: this is it. Check the link for more views and dj desks.

It's a sign

Look out NYC! A 25ft. tall statue of the Egyptian god Anubis (American spelling, I was reassured by a librarian that my spelling was old school, I feel special... not in the I need a helmet kinda way) is floating through the waters surrounding Manhattan as a promotion for a new King Tut exhibit happening in the city. But, we know what's really going on here. Its a message. Sucka Djs beware, I've got your surrounded. No? don't think so? Well, I don't see a 25ft. tall symbol of you floating around the East River. So suck it.

This find was provided by Jenny Leigh Mecum.

I'm back in NYC after a short, blur of a trip to VT for the Burton US Open. I promised pictures and possibly video. I promised the photog Scott would produce the goods. But, how could I not for see that Scott's video camera would fall victim to the party. So, with the video camera in shambles and the "real-deal" camera at home (probably better this way, that thing is expensive and probably woulda ended up in a grave with the video camera) I will gather up photos from other camera handlers at the event.

As many of you know, DJs these days, including myself, get most of their music from digging around obscure music blogs and the like. Reading random blogs is the new record digging. Its not quite the same and you can't get "the last copy" of something but, satisfies the soul non the less. While reading these blogs and grabbing music I realized a lot of these tracks have some great artwork to go with them, or at least a funny picture. So, I thought I'd start sharing them with all of you.

So, remember when Chuck Norris jokes were funny? yea, they're still funny. My friend Jenny just sent this little gem over to me and I couldn't resist reposting it. Good stuff Jen, good stuff.
