You can say I'm sorta the boss so get lost.
So, it's been a while since my last post and I apologize for that. I've been working on a number of things and the fruits of my labor will come to fruition this month. "What fruit?" You ask. Well, no weird, experimental or foreign fruit. Just your usual suspects but, damn is it fresh!
First up:
As many of you know, or can at least tell, I got my start in this whole dj shenanigans as a battle dj. However, I have not been in a battle in quite some time as the battle scene has severely deteriorated and I have lost myself in the wonderful toys that are Serato and MIDI controllers. Loki noticed the date of the NYC DMCs approaching and suggested that I enter for fun. So, after a little kicking and screaming I sent in my registration and put together a routine. This Saturday, the 15th, I will be competing in the East Coast DMC Battle at Santos Party House in NYC. The battle and showcases are from 4pm - 1030pm. If you are in the NYC area I urge you to attend. Not only to scream my name so I appear to be famous but, to support the longest running, most prestigious dj battle in the world. As I said, battling has fallen, sadly, by the way side and this year marks the beginning of its rise back to popularity. So, come by, have a drink and experience true turntablism and the reason djs who can't scratch are pure do do butter.
Next:
Starting May 24th I will be DJing/ Hosting Monday night happy hour at The Professor's Loft ( 219 2nd ave. NYC) from 5-9pm. This is something I've wanted to do for a while and I've finally found the perfect venue. The Loft is a chic, mellow spot with huge couches to relax, a great 2nd floor outdoor patio, a huge bar and a great dance floor. The vibe is welcoming and the staff is beyond friendly. Truly a great place to come let lose to some funky music after work. What would happy hour be without a drink special? I'll do you one better. We're offering up $4 margaritas, $3 sol AND $20 gets you a bucket of high life nips and all you can eat tacos. These arent some frozen tacos that just got microwaves. They are made fresh on the spot by Professor Thom's chef. So, come through and enjoy yourself every Monday.

Last but not least:
I took it away and now I'm bringing it back: the music page. I like giving stuff away for free. I also like giving you a reason to check djanubus.com all the time. So, in the coming weeks I will create a page that will host a good amount of my released remixes, mixtapes and turntablist compositions. You will be able to access this page via a link on the right navigation menu.
Thats all for now! Check back soon for the music page and a video of my full DMC routine. Deuces. (did that catch on yet?)
