The way night life should be.
I came across this video while digging through blogs this morning. A short documentary style piece about legendary club night "Back to Basics." While this particular night focuses on house music, I thought their over all outlook on night life and operations were something to admire. So many club-goers in NYC, and all over the world, tend to forget the importance of music and above all fun. Everyone ends up going out just to be scene (pun intended) or to say "I can get in there," or "I know the owner." It seems as though the real experience of going out has been lost and in its place perpetuating snowball of self serving, scenester crap has been set in motion. Has night life lost it's soul? Not "Back to Basics." Just my 3 cents.
